The Effects of the Socio-Psychological Factors of Residential Facilities for the Handicapped on Their Organizational Effectiveness

Abstract
This study aims to identify direct and indirect causal effects between variables of the job stress, depression level, empowerment and organizational effectiveness perceived by care workers in residential facilities for the handicapped, who are dedicated to improving the living quality of others. this study verified two hypotheses 5-1 and 5-2 in order to identify the mediation effect of empowerment in the influence of the subjects`` job stress and depression level on their organizational effectiveness. The first was that job stress would have an indirect and positive influence on the organizational effectiveness with the mediation of empowerment. The second was that depression level would have an indirect and positive influence on the organizational effectiveness with the mediation of empowerment. Hypothesis 5-1 was discarded because the indirect effect of the subjects`` job stress on the organizational effectiveness with the mediation of empowerment showed no statistical significance. Hypothesis 5-2 was adopted because the indirect effect of subjects`` depression level on the organizational effectiveness with the mediation of empowerment showed statistical significance.
